How long am I suppose to wear my brace?
Wear according to your doctor's orders Some patients wear the brace 23 hourswhile others only wear theirs when needed. Compliancy is key to treatment.
What is the best way to clean my orthosis.
The best way to clean a TLSO is to spray the inside with rubbing alcohol and wipe dry. It can also be cleaned by wiping out with a damp towen and anti-bacerial soap.
What do I do if my spainal orthosis breaks?

How often should my brace be replaced?
This depends on the age,activity level and treatment plan of the patient and physician. Higher activity levels can lead to a shorter "life" for the brace, as more activity generally means more wear. Additionally, younger patients need braces more often because they generally grow quickly.
Is it normal that my skin is red after I remove my orthosis or prosthesis?
Minimal redness is expected with both orthosis and prosthesis. However, if you experience redness or irritation that lasts longer than 30 minutes after removing the brace contact your orthotist or prosthetist.
What materials are used to make the spinal orthosis
A majority of the orthoses are made of modified polyethylene plastic. Some contain soft lining which is called Aliplast. Designs can be put on the orthoses during the fabrication process.
